When Women Are Victimized and Misogyny.

You know,  I am sick of this.  I am sick of there being a problem and then swept under the rug.   Case #1 ,  another alleged sexual assault at a North Carolina University.   That place of higher education,  has recorded yet another case of REPORTED sexual assault AND it was at a school atop of reported events!

The ‘body of work’,   both rhetorical and actual,  perpetuate misogyny.   And then the sentences are a joke.  The latest perp, is an athlete.   I know,  I know,  who’d have expected that, right?

And this,  coming upon the heals of two major stories at Vanderbilt and Stanford respectively..    The Vanderbilt case,  is especially heinous,  as it IS a hate crime.  And after the raping,  he asserted to the victim,  that slavery is an alibi, 400 years of slavery that is.

It gets worse.   He then urinated upon the co-ed. With these extenuating circumstances,  he gets 15 years!   It seemed as this judge was more concerned, with the rapist’s prospects after release than the horror and degradation of the poor victim.  And you know that he will get leeway and an early termination of incarceration!

His name,   by the way.  Cory Baty.  The Judge:   Monte Watkins..   Be sure to comment or send an email to that Judge.  (POS).

Case Two:   A miserable POS (http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/06/us/sexual-assault-brock-turner-stanford/)

Listen to the account of the Victim!   This is heart-breaking!

Stanford rape survivor’s letter to her attacker 03:56

(CNN)Widespread outrage has erupted over a California judge’s decision to give a former Stanford University swimmer a six-month jail sentence for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. Critics are blasting the decision as far too lenient.

I will let you listen to her story.  I am shaking mad,  even still.   Sad to be male and that I might make her fearful of me.   Even so,  it is important to internalize this!  six months to 90 days?!   Brock,  screw your dad and yourself!    And then ‘daddy pooh’ is all supportive! Screw him as well.   He stated that his son will be hurt for 20 minutes of bad behavior. Look at what your’ son did.    He can never repay that debt. Ever!!

But in a statement on Monday, Rosen stopped short of calling for Persky’s ouster.
“While I strongly disagree with the sentence that Judge Persky issued in the Brock Turner case, I do not believe he should be removed from his judgeship,” Rosen said. “I am so pleased that the victim’s powerful and true statements about the devastation of campus sexual assault are being heard across our nation. She has given voice to thousands of sexual assault survivors.”
CNN calls to Turner’s defense attorney, Mike Armstrong, were not returned Monday.

In another semi-related event.   This happened back a few years ago.   But injustice,  misogyny and ambivalence coalesce into a dirge of acrimony.  A woman who faced a trial,  re-raped in court,  and with a long comment by her,  that went unheeded.

As to the case, of a truant girl,  I sit here in apoplexy.   Make an example of an innocent girl.   But I will let you take this in.

So,  let me think,  Diane was being a good girl and yet had to face this, as a responsible young adult and under stress.     Ok, she got a respite with all those donations.

The Rape Hologram

I watched a movie last night about 17-year-old Eun An. (Nam Bo-Ra).   I highly suggest that anyone who can view this 2012 film, (Don’t cry Mommy), please do! It a very heart-breaking story.    This movie is about more than one victim, it’s about a mom and  daughter’s happy life together,  being shattered irreconcilably.   Making matters,  worse,  is the sexism.    It is a narrative about responsibility and how jurisprudence and its own misogyny,   perpetuates the myths and the realities.     In the end, this it is not a blog meant to bash men,  but rather where to start,  in addressing education.

Don't_Cry,_Mommy-001

“Revolution is the negation of the existing, a violent protest against man’s inhumanity to man(mankind) with all the thousand and one slaveries it involves. It is the destroyer of dominant values upon which a complex system of injustice, oppression, and wrong has been built up by ignorance and brutality.”  Emma Goldman.

Yes,  but what are we going to do about it?  Laws are a means to an end.   Votes! What does this do, for victims?  The net  effect resolves nothing and they do not placate the victims which include, the family of those victims!

In this movie,  a mother seeks revenge.  Because the perps are allowed to go free and the main perp,  gets a couple months of probation.   Eun-Ah in the mean time is let down by the system,  let down by a culture of near silence by and the continuous ‘rape culture’.

To make matters worse, the girl was raped by these assholes, a second time.  With her own self-worth utterly destroyed,  she becomes even more disillusioned.    Now let’s put this into perspective,  a girl is raped, twice!   Her mother is outraged and the legal system suggests, to settle!  The mother throws down the money offered to her.  At that point,  the perp’s family accuses her daughter and her mother as being loose.

After a recent blog on RallyPoint,  one guy used the Duke LaCrosse team as an example of how men suffer too?  WTF?  Let’s break that down also.  I am sure the legal system let them down.   No!  We are not going to go there.  Compared to the millions of girls and women are who are sexually brutalised, an anecdotal inference to that,  is so sexist,  that is no wonder that this issue, propagates into a miasma of legalise.

“I do not think I ever opened a book in my life which had not something to say upon woman’s inconstancy. Songs and proverbs, all talk of woman’s fickleness. But perhaps you will say, these were all written by men.”  ‘Jane Austen’.

As a solution,  neither more laws with no justice or settling out of court will cause the rapist to abstain or ,the mother’s sadness to be any less sad.

The solutions are many,  but it will take more than rhetoric and blaming the victim or more laws.  It will require consideration of how the woman feels and judges adjudicate cases against perps.  It will require education and one that is not an attack on all ,males but , listening to mothers, girlfriends and wives.

As an aside,  a friend in Germany of mine was raped.   She asked to hear story about keeping the baby.   I told her that my NOT place to tell her what to do.   Her response humbled me  because she told me that I was that I am the first to not suggest,  but listen.  She was crying!

The name of the game  is being supporting.  It is not about me,  but to advocate meaningful change, which includes,  like the movie, remedies and compassion for victims everywhere.

This show made me cry,  and not feel bad about crying!

Grandfather Time…. We didn’t start the fire!!

VA1veterans

WardFIRST-THEM-CAME-FOR-Graphic-2-homeless-vet-278x300

The VA is a place of healing but a healing that is part transcendence and part acquiescence.   A kind of home to the many homeless and/or hurting.    Like an old military training film,  the memories of soldiers are rekindled,  with the ebbing of the time and tide and the constant changes that slowly and almost imperceptibly evolve.

Sitting in chairs lined up like eggs the shiny floors and a plethora of young people with a whole lot more than you in their lives talk loud and authoritatively.   Nurse Cratchett with her Ben Casey cap mulls over the scene keeping it as quiet as she can with a prescription in hand and whispering where to go next.  There is order here,  and signs telling you what you should do as and where you should do them.   Part suggestion and part demand….  you comply.

What I see is a bunch of old, white men/women constantly berating the President. Don’t believe me…check out Fox News’ viewing demographics….You guys seem to fit right in their target demo. Face the fact that your generation is dying off and being replaced with multiracial, non-religious, informed citizens that don’t buy the corporate bull shit anymore. Thank you all for your service, but it’s time to give up on your 50s “Leave it to Beaver” dream world and accept that America is changing.

(And this was from a military site and a part of my point in this blog)

Shuffling past the new partitions and faded drapes you humbly canter onward to a room to wait some more.  Then the eager young doctor rolls into the room, inquiring about what brought you there that day.   Like he doesn’t already know.  His intentions are generally good and his allocation of time is ten words and a prescription(s).     Back in your chair you wait.   The minutes tick laboriously on with black and white clocks making their rounds in your head.    And you feel like a bursting dam full of still water.     The coldness of put-out caregivers with dissembling glances stare obtusely at you.

You are whisked away in rubber chariots with the air-conditioner breaking the disturbing silence that has long been established.      Only so many retold stories can they bear and what they show to their friends is markedly different than what you experience.   The tar on the road causes a clicking and thudding as tires roll and roll and roll and you fall fast asleep.

At home there there are no cupboards,   just a chair,  a bed and perhaps a TV.    The walls are yellow and gray brick,  the mortar hardened like the souls of man.   The ceiling fan in steed of a dream whirring and whirling and the tick,  tick,  tick of an electric chain.   Bound to reflection you start to complain but feel the potential sting or words,   those silent statues in an antiquated museum.   Their only destiny an auction or the city dump.

Old pumps

Children's phone

The plain yellow curtains burp and rustle against the warm walls as the A/C is clicked on and you fall asleep and you faintly hear the sound of doors and the rustling of tires on hot gravel.    Magical cupboards are laden with product,  generic brands of what you used to consume and settle on mashed potatoes and country cream corn,   as much due to chewing as it is to satiation.

Pretty soon your cat or cats or maybe a dog gather up with you,  finding a place to call their own and that is the closest you had that day to affection,  non-contrived and totally about you!   Yet the emotional give and take is the soft mortar which has not nor will ever harden until the by and by.

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”

Watching the train wreck called ‘Nancy Grace’ I feel she is in other people’s personal space.    If it were not for the downside of humankind,  she could no longer embrace these dramas and shriek like a bloviating banshee bartering time for bits of gossip.   If she missteps,   her paths will be glacial thumbprints upon an arid land and her legacy will be those chains that Charles Dickens spoke of.

The gold standard of any objective is the bandage that stems the flow of further missteps.   Like a ‘Deer Crossing’ sign strategically located, a berm against recklessness and a speed bump for good measure.   Mercy for the deer and the pot of gold that is in each of us but seems so utterly far away,  so abstract and so transient.   So lost among the evil tree and thorny twig.

An example of tyranny might have been the fight between Tesla and Edison.   A thing that benefitted all of us was twisted and bent for an invention or the claims of it.   And as a legacy to true wit,  a withering white tombstone in the alternating sides of man.

Those I like to call gossips can take any truth,  co-opt it and then make themselves a martyr.   There are no intentions to mitigate suffering but to make a puppet show over the pain and sadness of others.   I cannot be part of this.   Like Tiger Woods,  what were the justifications?  Indeed,  he did run afoul of his wife and the sanctity of his commitment.   But this is no sin against me and he knows his commission all-too-well, but do we gather interest from it?   Is anyone’s life made better by this illicit banter? If so,  let me know where.

This kind of hyperbole masks over the sad Seraphim’s sigh,  this symbolism, this carnage, and  this, without a real tear in the sophist’s eye.    A funny little aside in a life full of contradictions,  idle passive expressions like “standing shoulder-to-shoulder”.    Sounding more like an electric fence grounded out in brackish water.

So now the Rebel Flag is the symbol of suffering and hate but does burning it’s alleged intentions put a meal on the table or correct a huge wrong?    Is Eric Garner coming back to us, like a Phoenix rising from it’s ashes,  who most likely is most worthy of pity?   Most deserving of our love?   Selling a cigarette,  and getting rich?  A headlock dreadlocked traded for a headstone.

The little miscreant who destroyed nine lives,   is fit for a hanging for the blood on his hands.   He represents no one but the brain-damaged and hateful ones.  No flag represents that any more than a potato chip being a vegetable.

From Casey Anthony,  to Foxy Knoxy,  the truth is hidden like a fiber optic wire in a sea of circuits.   We want witches so we can revile evil but every time we do so,    another alter ego appears like ragweed among us.   Another person to complain about.    From the deviancies of Jared,  to a man named Jed.   We have trouble keeping our boiling caldron fed.  With corpses of tiffany and trinkets of cubic zirconia we lavish both contempt and praise and not sure what witch is which.

So Nancy fires her salvos like a Gatling gun severing reality with a wag of her tongue.   If this drivel flooded our drive,  we would sandbag the river until we fixed the levees.    Let us find some good words to say about each other,   find food for the hungry,  clothes for the naked and hope for the hopeless.

My favorite commercials are the ones where we pay it forward or the ones where we see the good in each other.

If we put our minds to it,  Reality Shows and Gossip Shows would give way to feeding the entire world and maybe the cure for cancer or other diseases and to let others live without the need for slogans,  avenues or road blocks.   No more barbed-wire bounding both sinner and property but halos freely dispatched to a dying world and thirsty world.   No more cannons and no more experts.   No more pollen from poisonous plants and toxic people.

Better we mind our own business when that business has no place in our lives unless we wish to hug them or share our blessings.    Even an offender of whatever needs to be watered right or the bitterness of that root takes hold and diminishes us all.

“To be a poor man is hard, but to be a poor race in a land of dollars is the very bottom of hardships.” – W.E.B. Du Bois

Every year just before the start of the football season we get  political correctness with the term,  The Redskins.  Okay I can see how the name can be construed to be something offensive but what about tackling poverty rather than worry about the name of a football team or teams?

To put this in stark terms, counties on Native American reservations are among the poorest in the country and, according to the Economic Research Service at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, nearly 60 percent of all Native Americans who live outside of metropolitan areas inhabit persistently poor counties.

Tom Rodgers is the president of Carlyle Consulting of Alexandria, Virginia. A Blackfoot tribal member, he advocates on behalf of Native American tribal governments and their people. He was previously a congressional staffer for Senator Max Baucus.

Unemployment rates are depressing with alcohol use and violence against women alarming.   The poverty rate ranges from 40-54% with about 10% in extreme poverty.   WASHINGTON—A gap in law enforcement on Native American lands creates an environment in which Native women suffer a higher rate of violence than any demographic in the United States, according to data collected by the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Census Bureau and advocacy organizations.

http://americaswire.org/drupal7/?q=content/law-enforcement-gaps-leave-native-women-vulnerable-rape-and-domestic-violence-1

I saw a program from the reservations where rapes were around 60% of the Native American women?  Do you think they care about a name when they are hungry and subjected to rape so much?   The women there had their little support group,  lamenting the violence and degradation.

Washington Redskins Defend Name With Help From Native Americans

“It’s a warrior’s name”

Native amimg_9638webrez-house

The Washington Redskins premiered a video Monday in which Native Americans explain why they don’t think the team’s hot-button name is offensive.

In the Redskins Facts video, Native Americans argue that they have bigger issues to deal with than a football team’s name. “They’ve never asked Native Americans. It’s somebody else who knows nothing about us trying to speak for us, and it’s kind of an insult,” Wade Colliflower, Team Redskins representative from the Chippewa Cree Tribe, said before adding, “If you can help in any other way it would be greatly appreciated.”

Sadly though that money does not help those in dire need.   Have you seem some of the Alaskan Wilderness show?  Or Alaskan Troopers?   Some of those homes are barely big enough for one,  let alone a family.    And yet some tribes get one million per as the article above relates.

So yes, Native Americans are rightfully mad but that anger should be redirected to get help to the needy and not create another caste system in this country.

The drinking and violence is staggering and being homeless over a year ago,  I know the plight that faces people without a place to stay!!!

Pensive Patience – Turn your head and deny.

Israelirescue-the-worlds-poorest-3

One night we ended up at a place called the Port Authority in New York City.    We being my girlfriend and I,  as we had a stopover before heading on to upstate NY.     The busstop was an eclectic mix of wandering souls,  some with bus tickets and others seemingly having a ticket to hell or a local jail.    The insidious nature of being poor relegates too many people to the streets and ironically far too many are servicemen out of the military,  many with serious mental issues.

So what do the police do?  They either arrest them or make them move a few feet to another Gate.  Where they put down their makeshift cardboard homes while swilling alcohol and threatening other homeless people or harassing bus riders.  I remember the narrow metal benches that were too thin to sit on,  let alone sleep on.   But that didn’t stop some from trying as I saw a young Puerto Rican man trying to sleep and an obviously high and drunk lady of about 50 pushing that young man off the bench.

The result was almost too bizarre and unsettling to observe.   As they yelled at each other the disagreement escalated and the disturbed woman with a bottle in a brown bag broke that bottle as she smashed it against the top of a metal 55 gallon drum producing a rather lethal weapon.  She waived her jagged bottle and threatened to kill the guy.   A black lady seating a few feet away called the old drunk lady a bitch and other assorted life-affirming comments.

1414010274739_wps_2_Joan_Rivers_Apartment_Con230-East-63rd-Street-Apt-3__11

Finally the 50 year old mentally ill lady discarded her weapon and it got scary and otherworldly.   The lady proceeded to lift her soiled skirt,  dropped her unmentionables and menacingly told the young guy to  F#@K her.   Now the old black lady was in top form, telling the ersatz stripper that no one wanted to see her nasty coochie.   Again her vocabulary was as a colorful as before and it seemed that high tide was going out because she feel asleep until the whole entourage was shifted like an adult version of musical benches in an insane asylum.

Perhaps we can start by realistically addressing homelessness.   The VA Hospital,  truck stops and Motels have their parking lots where homeless people find a safe place to sleep for the night.   The decent people (not billionaires) who try to accommodate the needy are indeed angels of a kind.   And these professional fast-food workers and managers basically hold the world together,  while Wall Street and it’s minions drive rental properties out of sight.

The people in NYC who get gunned down are not necessarily suspects but innocent bystanders.  The stories feature the injuries of random shots into a crowd while they get paid leave and offer no apologies.   Sad when police officers do their own version of terror against the weak and enfeebled.

The other side of the homeless equation is where are the children of these homeless seniors?   Where are the cops that do good and why are not these cops emulated by other police officers?   An officer approaches a feeble adult and gets aggressive not knowing if the person is globally Aphasic but perceived as Jason Bourne with tactical firepower and a drawer full of steroids.

Society is ill, perhaps irreparably when handicapped people are not taken care of.   And to me,  even criminals should not be raped by fellow inmates and murderers are not somehow heroic when they hurt the various kind of  offenders in a faux game of morality awry.

Police officers should be respectful and accommodating rather than finding trumped up charges which other officers  accept at face value.    They have a life and a home and respect and it is a power trip because that is why they arrest a jogger for jaywalking.   Campus cops.   The ultimate worst kind of parasite who arrests young ADULTS for doing what they did or their fathers and mothers did during the 60s and 70s.

So this is the season of discontent and mercy and patience have given way to a political state of anarchy where politicians and polizei are given carte blanche powers to accuse and abuse suspects.   The Miranda Rights are fudged with and lied about while good cops are not judgemental but a mutual respect transcends gung ho wife-beaters with a badge.

Port-authority-bus

There are nearly 1,100 BILLIONAIRES in the world who sweep people off the street and characterize homeless as worthless druggies.   The problem is that many make money off of them at both ends and then moralize and wonder about what house they will stay in during the weekend and whose palms need to be greased for the various PACs and the democrats are just as rich and even richer than their counterparts.   Neither party is blameless BUT their immediate task should be to provide humanity to as many as they can.

In depressed places the womanhood of a woman is like Park Place or Madison Ave if they are attractive and date rape is laughed at and kidnapping is happening with souls making money off of the pain and dehumanizing effects of human trafficking while horny rich men dip their wicks in countries where police officers make our own look like caring social workers.    It makes me mad when I hear women using misogynistic language at women who lack what they consider classy behavior,

We all need to access how we treat each other and it starts in the home and in school,  mitigating sexual abuse and educating the poor from abusing their children and including the  hymens of young girls.   This kind of savagery needs to be talked about and a real plan to deal with it.   Collectively stemming the tide of the heart break of being deemed service type people.   Classism is an issue and if we want to lead the world in morality that starts with feeding the homeless and providing shelter to the homeless during spates of especially bad weather.   I have slept in my house or car where temperatures were in the teens,  along with kitty and a few pillows and blankets.   It can happen to anyone.  The gentle and graceful find a way to make helping cool again and for the first time for many.

She’s very very very smart, but she is bad at drugs?

Dallas21Dallas22

I am actually proud of this young lady because she is smart but it was pretty evident that she suffered a lot of abuse at home and yet is surviving.   One of the most significant choices was to not go back home because as she said and I am paraphrasing,   “too much temptation”.

But at the same time looking back at her past on A&E,   she said,  she should be thriving.    She said that.  And this kind of talk most undoubtedly came from social workers,  guidance counselors and self-help books.  She was thriving as a young girl but the demons that haunted Ma and Pa Needle made that foundation shaky.

The mom said she was one of the greatest people that she has ever known?  A teenager who has Gollum’s ring tethered to opioid dreams and where Meth is always more.   A boyfriend who gets to sow seeds deep and in a haze find a love that no one else could possibly can.    While deserving souls are denied pain relief and all in the name of a fix or fixes,  overdoses and quantum mixes.

fda doublesTrans fats

And getting to how very very very smart she is,  the cumulative amount of verys invariable make her very very very smart.  So let’s break this down.   This attractive intelligent young woman is held hostage to a drug-induced state while disconnected parents with brick telephones hammer I Love yous in a staccato deception.  This very very very very smart girl  is doted upon unhealthily and the father says she is not good at drugs.   Well that is a goal,  I guess? Iron Oars on a rusty canoe.

SeizuresThat picture actually give me seizures.  Who needs drugs?  Ban pictures too!

I believe the father has other secrets too.   We may or may not know one way or the other,   and probably do not need to,  especially as this young woman continues to actually grow up.    The patchwork quilts are replaced with yarn,  replacing burned-outs bulb with Neon.    She is a champ inspite of the nesting cuckoo birds who cooed lies on brains filled with chemical Metaphors.

We could only hope for moreacid-drugs-good-trip-good-vibes-Favim.com-818970

Good luck and God’s speed and while I know her parents are just human too,   the objectification of her youth and intelligence invariably vanishes.    She is arty woman and interesting too,   but let this very very very very very smart woman who is not good at drugs,  to forever give them up.

It seems to me that we are reverting back to a time we do not want to go.  Things happen in life,  you can not control the tick of a clock anymore than you can control people.  In the next moment creative art will be inhibited as politicians talk about things they never experienced and if they did,  they just lie about it.

You and I might clash. I have a better idea. Help asap!

“When the white man turns tyrant it is his own freedom that he destroys. He becomes a sort of hollow, posing dummy, the conventional figure of a sahib. For it is the condition of his rule that he shall spend his life in trying to impress the “natives”,and so in every crisis he has got to do what the “natives” expect of him.He wears a mask and his face grows to fit it.”
George Orwell

I consider myself a liberal when it comes to humans and suffering and since we can spend hundreds of billions on soon retired aircraft,  I get annoyed when Veteran’s Benefits are slashed because of the cost factor.   Too many are counting on robots and drones and such as a reason but invariably injuries are long-lasting and life-changing.   Athletes get richly compensated and their risks are nowhere near a soldier’s.

So the problem is the suffering is also a reflection of us collectively and I am not talking about socialism or worse,  I am talking about helping in other ways than just words.   And there are those doing and not just saying they are helping.

“There’s a saying that you can’t put a price on a human life, but that saying is a lie because we have. We have, and it’s so much lower than you would think. Yes, human life has its price like anything else, and will continue to do so for as long as it doubles as a commodity.”
Nenia Campbell, Cease and Desist

I want people to understand this one very important point.  If you are a billionaire and in production of some sort then you hire people and those people may be retired or laid off.   Their fingers gnarled from the constant abuse of repetition and perhaps an unsavory boss.   This boss/owner goes him and for that family season’s greetings are easier.    Some hoever lose everything and very few to help out or even care.

It took Unions many times to get safer conditions and better pay.   To ward off the improbable accident or misfortune that at one time we never considered.   We surely can find fault with something that person has done and so we blindly legislate as a remedy for a symptom.

A 19 year old girl gets notice of her fiance dying in the Middle East and suddenly her life and the life of the parents are shattered.   Generals still sleep well and there is never enough compensation to recompence the newly indigent or those whose problems keep them second class citizens.   Second by what standard? Poverty,  medical bills,  Cancer,  Mother Nature,  Despots?

Not only does the Billionaire have electric all winter but at the expense of the withered hands of a widow or widower.

Does the Mother of a dead soldier see the name on a stocking and smile?   Do the generals stop by and offer condolences or send an emissary to pay their respects?   And the child dying of cancer,  where are those people who own a Nuclear Reactor who poisons for generations.   Where are they when a child is born with no legs or arms?   Where are the producers Malathion and the congenital birth defects and the toll that takes on a family?

Do we support ‘Make A Wish’,  ‘Give Kids the World’  or any other number of agencies who can provide relief?  And do we continue to support or grandstand or say we did enough?

People who are different or people with a disabling condition.    Many tempt fate by a cavalier disregard for others until they are in a supine position counting off moments til the inevitable expiration of ego and all the rest.

We have shows like Criminal Minds or even SVU.   It is well and proper to prosecute the guilty but what is the fallout from legislation?   It sounds like a good thing until the human cost includes unintended consequences from the actions of well-meaning people.    At best legislation and lawsuits can temporarily bring some relief without a healing that is more complete.   Support Groups are generally run by lay people and it seems cures defer to treating symptoms but not the cause.

Cases of Irritable Bowel Disease is rampant among the Jewish populations after the Concentration Camps.  We have billionaires today still benefitting from the tragic loss of others to which many times there is no resource but a support group that meets once a month.

IBDAGenetics

And felons,  from small time hoods to murderers and sex offenders,  it seems that sticking it to them also has consequences.    Our nation is becoming very self-centered and not aware of the effects of legislation and a lack of housing that follows offenders.    But by the grace of God go we.

RachelShepards Kitchen

To the left is a homeless advocate who helps.  A private young lady with a heart and the dear young ladies on the right whose elder years are feeding the young and hopeless,  the aged and the so-called profane criminals who sully our word?  <— being facetious about the felons.   Hell,  I might be a bad person myself!

But this badness in others and ourselves is no farther away than head trauma in an auto accident to drug abuse and hate crimes.   We have offenders who never got treatment or programs to head off their own particular brand of abuse.   Stopping the cycle is a humane test.  Not silly PSAs by corrupt nabobs in Hollywood or actors who feel an affinity to some cause.   Those offenders have families too and those unintended consequences are things they share in and suffer over?

Cops beating up old people and other such abuses are more a product of our own pride.   So instead of helping we actually use sentences to get cheap labor and then wonder why the marginally gifted feel alienated,  despondent and angry.   East to be hard!

Black History Month & the Greatest Pitcher Ever – Bob Gibson

My favorite baseball player is almost 80 years old next November.    He is about five weeks older than my mother and regardless of the fact that he does NOT know me,   he is my role model,  my baseball idol and a man of great character.

I feel that too many times Jackie Robinson is hailed as the great trailblazer of equal rights.   But Mr. Gibson himself grew up in one of the most dangerous ghettos in America…   Cabrini Green.    His own father died about three months before Bob was born and his brother who was some 15 years older was a kind of mentor.

The song above is probably my favorite from Elvis and conveys the hard reality of disadvantage and self-destructive behaviors.     Growing up in Texas in a segregated neighborhood it seemed that integration was happening and no one had to tell us racism was wrong.   How is it little kids can figure out.   One day this black boy came across me and asked his friends,  “Who is this peckerwood?”     One of my friends from that run down place called the young black child out and told him I was his friend.

Racism was very real but the good part of that change was not a slogan or a gimmick,   we had real problems in our country.   We had Little Rock Hall and the protest of the brave young black students.    I was one year old as this cauldron was beginning to boil over and an ugly scene ensued.

This young lady was a hero and young kids of all races were angry at the over racism and Jim Crowe Laws that permeated the nation and especially  the South.    It was this that the young Cardinal star had to deal with and he did so relatively easily as was his character never to lose at anything.

Gibson had rickets and asthma as a kid and yet become a good basketball player,  averaging 22ppg as a senior in high school.   After that he went on to be an All-American  basketball player at Creighton University.    And from there the Harlem Globetrotters and finally signed with the St. Louis Cardinals.

When pitching for the St. Louis Cardinals in spring training,  black players were not allowed to stay in the hotel that was white only.    Eventually the Cardinals organization fixed that problem.    Imagine being the superstar pitcher in the second best baseball organization and then being spit at in Florida.

The rough life growing up and his competitive nature made him a force in the game and he set one record that is still a record fifty or so years later.   (1.12) over 300 strikeouts and 13 shutouts with 22 wins.    He was a prolific hitter also bashing 24 Homeruns and 144 RBIs.   During the day there were not a lot of televised games and especially the Cardinals so I would listen to KMOX in St. Louis while we were living in upstate NY.      I loved and was proud when watching him pitch and would emulate his pitching delivery.

Mr Gibson like Hank Aaron survived the rigors that racism and hate with class and strength.   One time his catcher Tim McCarver ( a really good one) came to the mound and Gibson, “told him the only thing McCarver knew about hitting was he couldn’t.”

He was known for a blistering fastball and an awesome curve.    When he retired I felt such a deep sadness on a variety of levels.    As the years have passed fans revere him as a classy human and one of the greatest pitchers and one of only a few black pitchers.      So my looking up to him is influenced by so many factors.    I refused to lose and invariably I came through in the clutch every so often.   That included beating an undefeated wrestler in a state tournament,     and an unassisted triple play.    The baseball coach told my little brother that he had large shoes to fill.

I was born in a turbulent time with wars,   bitter conflicts racial and otherwise so I take a dim view of blacks using slavery as a crutch and so do the stars,   businessmen and fathers who do the right thing and do represent the status quo,   There is a lot of work and Ferguson roiled the waters and I am not going to be political but to say,  we collectively have to see each others as valuable as ourselves if not more.

This is a condensed version of my love and respect for this great man and served as a role model to black and white kids.

Do you know where you’re going to?

Dianna Ross had it right,  but we struggle against the obvious.   The same reality that life is a transient soul a waiting place for something else.   Like I cannot prove to you anything that you are unwilling to accept and the only certainty is deduced from what I believe I know.   I am not seeking approval but at an ear.   To hear my passionate regard for most everyone who has an honest take.   Not the cogitations of mindless babbles trying to sell a book but the real crisis that is every day life.

In the abstracts our dreams provide a kind of nexus,   to examine our world.   The only deducible result is that we better pay heed to the needs of others.   This idea that we are somehow original is funny because everything we have imagined,  has been thought about before.    It is kind of like salad dressing and choosing between French or Ranch.   We have people who would place their soul on the line just to prove to you that their choice is somehow unique.    None of us are,  exceptionally original.   That is the pride of the status quo.  That some equal would tell us what we already know.   Elucidating on a variable that was somehow hidden.

The brutal reality is that we are created to create.   Our effervescence can be misconstrued as divine intervention but I am sure that a sovereign god does not need endorsements.   Like saying that we know something that God wouldn’t.     OMG Larry,  I never knew that!  ok,  sure!

And how do we know the answer when we do not know the question?   Last night I dream t that some bad individual was going to take my life.   I hid beneath the ATM drawer,  half suspecting that my location was known.    That person knew I was not in support of him and I think he respected that, given the circumstances.

As things unfolded I spared my own life.    For anyone familiar with ‘Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs’  is aware of my conundrum.   For anyone still in doubt it was my sense of fairplay that gave me street cred.   I was able to parlay a take into resolution,  both preserving dignity while saving my life.

I would like to believe myself being in the final and most basic sense as Freudian and as classical and pragmatic as Socrates.    I hate mean people and even if I disagree with a lifestyle,  I would fight for it as saying to bullies,  “Bugger off”.

So what does this mean?   Well I see far too many people pretending that the Emperor’s pecker is not exposed and willing to attest that his rainment is fine and original.  Joan of Arc had nothing to lose but everything and any soldier of any country who is not diabolic,  sees the intrinsic value of a single soul.

Men would say a ‘penis’ is of the devil but a labiA is not the objective.    They ARE wrong on both accounts.   The demon is in the details and a patriarchal take on decency.  My heart breaks at the lonely soul with no place to live and the idea that others look down on them.   I look down on those who look down on them.    I realize they had no more of a choice than the man in the moon and just maybe that man may know something we don’t.   Afterall,  he loves the Moon and that is his reality and ours but a nuisance to be discarded.

If I sound like a rambling idiot, your perception may be right,   All I know is that suffering goes on unabated.  The teeth of death spares no one but divinity and I am not even sure if that is true.  I believe God respects the questioning soul because I believe he rather tires of obsequious fools.    Letting a witch die was as much a lack of their own  virility as the perverse notion as that young women peeing as she dies hung on a hickory stick.    If you want to locate evil,   it is not Harry Potter or that name who cannot be mentioned but our own infidelity to our own most passionate values.

People who say sex does not matter are abject liars.    Everyone wants to believe that there is some quintessential probity to a random collection of meteoric imaginations.    Fallacious conclusions are less battle worthy than dandelions in an EF-5 Tornado.    And politicians like rock stars find their quarry in the missionary position and that their rewards in intimacy is beyond the ken of ordinary people.

Like the ill-fated garden in LA to the guard in the Wizard of Oz are the implacable assertions of a slave owner on the 4th of July.    In too many occasions women are pussy on a stick.   A most sumptuous carrot of all.   A viking grabs her by the hair and conquers her while oppressing that same valley with an air of the King’s English and the voluptuous boob jobs on a modern day Barbie Doll.    Misogyny  in a mask of velour and beheading the soul of exposure.    Your member truly does depict you and women see the depth of the valley and the intercourse of fairness.

My next excursion will be the scent of papaya that wafts from the nature of nature and not the moralistic reverberations of hypocrisy.

I would rather have a woman a lot like me.   Sexually inclined and not afraid to be a women and not afraid for me to be a man.   The others are trying to protect something that is not real.

The honest man acquiesces to the notion that the eyes are that flame.   That transcends time and understands her more than any player could hope to.
