Yes, those thunderstorms,  rainshowers and flooding are terrifying!  However an astonishing number of vulnerable people die in situations where family members leave the aged,  kids and pets to die.  Image you that guilt and to know, you did it.   You did it

719 children left in vehicles have died of heatstroke since 1998. 
All of these deaths could have been prevented.

It is a criminal act.  It is selfish,  short-sighted and sad.   How could you rationalize it?  Tell that to the couple who can’t have kids.  Tell that to the elderly,  whose time is expedited by foolish idiots and their carelessness.  No amount of tears justify it.   Imagine you dying a painful death, the same way, your family or pets.

Pets are like family.  You did it.  Can you live with the heart-break? You can’t take back lives. It is done!

Heat index values between 100 and 107 degrees will remain in the
area Wednesday afternoon before a slight cool down on Thursday.
Clouds and precipitation are expected to return to the area Thursday
through Friday. These storms are not expected to be severe but heavy
rain could cause some localized flooding. The weather will improve
over the weekend with no precipitation expected and temperatures in
the lower 90s.

All of us suffer.  No one escapes the ‘rusty knife’ that captures one and all.

By the same token, we all experience joy and rectitude.  Displaying our trophies, to our friends and forgiving others and then ourselves.   We spin our tapestries with silk and cotton.  We suffer pestilences with those we are in love with.   We also love obediently.   We share and accept gifts.  We pay others with intangibles and hope, even as we are beset by storms.

We shine our cars til rust, ever-after.    Our shuttered habitats. A shrine. A home, a sanctuary.   Shuttered by real tears and rent fabric.  Man-made and otherwise.

Like children at Christmas, we unwrap our presents, expectant hearts and joyful interludes.  We all suffer and laugh concurrently..

We are planning a couple of things. One is a PR campaign for Morissette Amon.  Not Alanis BTW.  Secondly,  purchasing a motel to house homeless Veterans,  giving them a safe and non-judgmental place to live.

 

The Cat and the bag.

Kind of ironic,  I think.  A pet,  finds happiness in a plastic bag.  She finds intrigue there.  Simple,  safe and happy.   This cat is younger than  the other cat.   Baby is everywhere I go,  she rests at the door until,  I come in.

I am not sure of who the pet really is.  She sleeps in the day,  and treats the room as a kind of ‘Disney World’.   I am sure has broken the sound barrier, as she glides across the room and making a lot of noise.   My first inclination is to tell her, to behave.  But when I ponder this,  I am happy in her noise.

She is like a light house,  esconsed on a hill,  a guidepost of what lies ahead and unconditionally  watches our for us.   She has a responsibililty to her sub,  a quiet recollection of harmony,  and I like marmalade,  adding flavor and robust reminders, through her play.  At times,  she uses her to paw,  to get my attention.  And she wants me to rest,  while she nestles next to me.  I felt her paw on my elbow,  many times,  reminding me,  of what matters most in this world.

My other cat,  already 15,  is a bit more sedate in that regard, but man is she a sweetheart.  I swear,  she has two purr motors.  She purrs and then she seems to add a purr and loves to cuddle in my arms.  As she looks around,  I mention her name (Lacey) and her heads move over to my head, as if hugging me.  Really cute in that way.  A real lover,  happy in her affair. And this, after the redolent balm of friendship.

Two types 0f anchors,  equally good,  each with their own plastic bags, a place like a harbor, the boats and bags, coming in and out.

 

 

 

 

Thoughts from a bogus…. cat Lacey

I am a cat w/o felt hat.  Do you have a problem with that?  I like to eat and I will repeat it again,  “I love to eat”.   I will also deceive you to eat again and then purr in the corner as I have my quarry too.   I am not afraid of humans but they are afraid of me.   They are afraid because I might rub upon them and claim them as my own.    When you are sleeping I will wake up and run through house and I don’t even know  why.   In fact,   I never know,  unless it is meal time.  And god forbid if you ignore me because I will get in the little box and scratch and scratch until you tell me to stop.

Been there and done that.  

I am a hero!  I am cat hear me roar…..

I will give you that look and purring walk away.   I am sassy and I know it,   You better not put a bird house near a limb or window,  but Tweetie will be in trouble and I will laugh at your horror.   I am big (8 lbs) and rugged as they come.   I am a snowshoe meaning I am part Siamese,  but I am seldom angry,  a great hunter and I will bring you a bird so you eat healthy.  And I do not do vegan anything.

 If it  weren’t for heads I would get lost….

I used to be in the Bluebirds until I realized there were no birds but a bunch of young female humans and they are annoying and stuff.   Now I did join the Girl Scouts because I love the uniform and their cookies rock too.   I also prefer Catsup to spelled that way for some reason but I digress.

And George Carlin is right.   We cats can do anything but because we are adept at reverse engineering.    The Asian people are jealous,  if that tells you anything.   My favorite baseball teams are the Cardinals,  Blue Jays and the Orioles for obvious reasons.   In football I hate the Eagles because they got our running back.   I am not jealous but I am going to give them the Bird Flu.

I am coming out with my Politically Correct Cat Expressions.   I tell you this,   President Obama never chopped down a cherry tree and former President Bush either.   I would love to mace Congress people both parties.   I figure Jackson Galaxy should be president because then we can make dogs second class citizens.   I  mean dogs are lame.   They actually think humans are in control.   Ever see a cat fetch  a newspaper.   If we fetch anything it will have catnip in it and by the way,   Catnip is okay but I prefer Olives and the Pimentos.   I rock and roll to country music and the kind that was cool before country was cool.    It makes dogs howl so it can’t be all bad.

  What I dream about,  bird rich environment and claws of aviary destruction…

My owner is a weatherman.   What an ass clown!   He actually thinks his weather should gets windows 8.1.   I do humor him though.   I cuddle up to him to get rid of any fleas and get hair in his beard because you should see him squirm.  Ha.  Humans!   Especially males.   Being a girl cat I have my feline wiles and male cats get twitterpated as I arch my back and my tail fluffy.    I am so bad that I am on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list because I love giving males Cat Scratch Fever but literally and figuratively.

Well I am going to get one of those kitty furniture trees and hang upside down and flaunt my tail for all the studly Tom Cats and to swat my owner when he isn’t looking.    He is  going to think I am deranged because I am and that way when he touches my beautiful fur of my six pack,  he will  be in for a big surprise.   Cats break wind too!

Me and Foghorn mess with the Chicken Hawks and the dogs.   And all that stuff you see about Mice and Dogs getting over on cats.  That is so much  Urban Legend!  Do you realize there are singers with the names Urban and Legend and they coo over that modern junk.   Oh I get it.   Your dog ran away when you got a cat.  hehehe.   Like Bugs I am a stinker and I know it.

By the way,  cat(ch) me at the Cat Improv in the coming weeks.   I am trying to convince my owner to be a dummy and me the ventriloquist and I didn’t even need a dictionary for that.

Incomodious Odes

It is pleasing to be pleased AND more than desirable to be desired.   To be desirous of being another one is  better than being a Kate in the Bush or rather two Kates or Phoebe Cates is a conundrums or two out of a pool.

Does the smell of a sagacious skunk offset it’s perspicacious  nature and esoteric wit?   Does the dying flower die to be on it’s own grave?   Is Willy Wonka a policy wonk or a Hershey’s kiss desired?

Every rose has it’s scones and every Knight has his flower,  so by that are we to assume,  that a stinky rose’s prick a knife?  Just wondering my friends….   I guess that makes me wonder what I am not sure.

The Cat who saved my life. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaby!

Baby is kind of an enigma.   She is very affectionate towards me,  myself and even I.   But she is very distrustful of others.   Perhaps it was the loneliness and privation she suffered as a result of my calamity.      Being penned up for nearly two years and the pain I felt as she was in her cage in a shed,  sometimes with temperatures way below freezing.   Her pain was mine and I got sick of the circumstances and finally it was me and baby in the back seat of an aged Honda Civic.

Baby went everywhere with me and she loved the travel.    I would take her on long trips to Raleigh,  Durham and points in between.    She would sit in the back window or sidle up to me when it was cold,  raining or the loud slams of thunder shook the car.

One time I was in Durham and getting some food at Open Table Ministries and a lady across the street was a storage unit place manager and she offered to have my cat stay in there while I ate and out of the car.  In the A/C.   I managed to make her as comfortable as I could and her payment was her love and devotion.   To this day.

 Baby is a dark cloud with a white lining.   She brought love in her own way and hid in a place out of site.   Prying eyes were sometimes a concern.   Citizens with good intentions and a roof over their head,  experts in suffering in their spare time.

     Baby is an angel full of life,  since her blue-eyed days of infancy to her long enduring roads and the moment I came back from a chore, or an errand.  Living for me,  she added some hopefulness to my life and that my friends is true love.

My frustration finding a home was taking it’s toll,  sleeping at rest stops, Walmarts or busy truck stops.   There was always the bus people on Greyhound and those party buses and they increased my stress.   I just about had it.    When help came,  first by Baby being classified as emotional support animal by the VA.   I had help with the cat by a local humane society who knew the cat and I needed each other.

They were actually impressed that I would not give up on her or gave her to someone else. The VA said I needed to get rid of baby and I read them the riot act and got very upset.   Because of that they (The Humane Society) did all they could for me and the cat.   My cat was kind of cold to them but they stilled loved her and helped me with food and litter.

Now baby and I are happy living in the warmth and coolness respectively.   She runs like a track star,  as opposed to hanging upside down from the headrests.  She always made me laugh or made me feel calm and now she is right behind me purring and sleeping.   This is her place and I just stay with her and enjoy her loving me.
